The Capalbio | Future Storyteller Lab is a three-step program with daily writing sessions, panels and Q&A about new technologies and mentorship :
- The writing workshop will help the filmmakers focus on their structure and storytelling skills before their first draft. The workshop is organized in collaboration with Sources 2, a Dutch foundation working from Berlin and Amsterdam, which has been following cinematographic authors throughout Europe for 24 years.
- The panels will provide insight and case-studies about Video Games, Video Mapping, Innovative Documentaries and Virtual Reality to open their mind about new means of creation.
- The daily mentorship sessions with Colin Trevorrow will provide a special time with our guest of honour to share experiences and advice in this famously informal manner that is the trademark of Capalbio.
One of the attending projects will be chosen to attend MIA, the International Audiovisual Market of the Rome Film Festival, providing the opportunity to meet new partners and obtain a siginificant boost on the international market.
Lab Mentor
The Lab Mentor will be Colin Trevorrow, American director who has written and directed the fourth greatest success in history with Jurassic World after a typically independent debut with Safety Not Guaranteed in 2012 (Best Screenplay at the Sundance Film Festival and at the Independent Spirit Awards). Trevorrow is now in preparation of Star Wars: Episode IX, with a planned released in 2019.
Writing Workshop Tutor
The Lab Writing Tutor will be Eric Collins, a french‐american screenwriter famous for his collaboration with Jean‐Jacques Annaud, Alain Corneau, Claude Lelouch among others and who has been working in the field of TV, video game and feature film for more than 20 years.
